eTwinning Professional development Workshop 2010 Luxembourg

Every year, a dozen European eTwinning workshops are organized in several countries. These workshops are for teachers who want to learn about eTwinning and who want to know about using ICT in lessons. The workshop in Luxembourg was a fantastic experience. About one hundred teachers from all over Europe participated. During the workshops we had enough time to establish contacts, exchange experiences and projects to start. We are very pleased that we have a brand new project for next year. Provisional name of our newborn etwinningbaby "Travelling Mascotte". There are four schools in four different European countries that will participate: Neustadt in Germany, Tourcoing from France, Tholen from the Netherlands and we. Our mascot, a teddy bear dressed in a European uniform, will travel from one school to another. Curious as he is, he will take a look at the lives of students and inform those from other schools. The aim of this whole project is: getting to know each other and each others lives better through different ICT tools. Of course, it will be in English, a challenge for our future pupils of 1A with optional course Latin!

Expo

As you know, from May 1 to October 31 2010, a world expo is being held on both banks of the Huangpu River in the city of Shanghai, China.World Expositions are galleries of human inspirations and thoughts. The theme of the exposition is "Better City – Better Life" and signifies Shanghai's new status in the 21st century as the "next great world city". Our pupils made their own Belgian Pavilion in our entrance hall. They worked on different subjects as politics, sports, religion etc... The goal was to represent what's important for 12 or 13-year-old pupils from our country. Click here to watch the expo.

Virtual tour in our school

The pupils made a 'virtual tour' of our school: this is a simulation of an existing location, composed of a sequence of images. For this project, we used the program "Powerpoint". They learned to add links in a presentation. You can watch the presentation by clicking on the name of the location. Click on "view" and select "full screen". Images could load slowly, sorry for this.
